Composing output document
Contents
The Composition tab consists of three subgroups: Movement, Remove, and Marking.
Movement
The Movement group contains buttons to move pages in the document. If you move a page up or down, it will change its number in the document.
You can also automatically sort pages if there is a page number at the bottom or at the top of each page.
The Auto-Sort button allows you to make ScanPapyrus recognize page numbers and sort the pages in the ascending order (for example, starting from page one).
If you click the button, a dialog box prompting you to specify the position of the page number in the page will appear.
Select one of the options: Top of the page, if there is a page number at the top of each page, or Bottom of the page, if there is a page number at the bottom of each page. Then click OK.
ScanPapyrus will recognize the page number in the specified part (at the top or at the bottom) of each page and display it overlaid on the thumbnails in the page list.
You can easily edit the page numbers recognized by ScanPapyrus. If you notice an incorrect page number, you can manually enter the correct page number to fix the recognition error.
If ScanPapyrus couldn't recognize a page number, it will mark the respective page thumbnail with the ? character. In that case, you need to manually enter the correct page number, overwriting the question mark.
Make sure that all the pages are numbered correctly, and then click the Accept button in the page list. The pages will be re-sorted according to the specified numbering.
The Move Up button moves the page up in the page list. It will decrease the number of the page in the document.
Hotkey: Ctrl+Up.
The Move Down button moves the page down in the page list, which increases the number of the page in the document.
Hotkey: Ctrl+Down.
The Move to Top button moves the page to the very beginning of the document, making it the first page in the document.
The Move to Bottom button moves the page to the very end of the document, making it the last page in the document.
The Move to Position button allows you to move the page to an arbitrary position.
When a dialog box appears, enter a new number for the page in the document, and then click the OK button.
Remove
The Remove group contains a button for removing one or more pages from the document.
The Remove Page button removes the current page. If you have marked several pages, all of them will be removed.
Alternatively, use this hotkey: Del.
Before removing pages, the application will ask you to confirm the operation.
Marking
The Marking group contains buttons to mark pages in the document. You can apply group operations to the marked pages (read more in the Group operations section).
The Mark All button marks all pages in the document.
Alternatively, use this hotkey: Ctrl+A.
The Unmark All button unmarks all pages in the document.
